About Damir Zurub

Damir Zurub was born in 1976 in Zagreb, Croatia. He is a NAUI diving instructor and has been diving for a long time, while he entered the world of underwater photography by happenstance, merely as a hobby. He started participating in various underwater photo contests in 2010, and has since won 75 different medals and awards (CMAS Underwater Photography World Champion 2015). Currently, he is the captain of the Croatian national underwater photography team. His biggest interest lies in wide-angle ambient photography with model, even though macro photography isn’t far behind either. Egypt, Red Sea, Indonesia, Thailand, Malta and the Bahamas are his favorite destinations to which he keeps returning, but he also enjoys diving the Austrian lakes, and speleodiving a variety of spings and caves. Damir is also the president of the “Roniti se mora” diving club, which he founded in 2011. He also started the Underwater Photo Marathon in 2013, and has been its chief organizer and director ever since.
