Photo description: These jellyfish "bloom" all over the Perhentian Islands around May. We carried vinegar on the boat to neutralize potential stings, since they were so common at that time. Their tentacles easily dragged up over a meter behind them, even with a 'bell' diameter of only 15-20cm. Everyone from the dive-shop got stung at some point except me...I felt left out. The closest I got was a light touch of a tentacle's tip hitting my unshaven face...felt a sudden burn and wafted it away with a gloved hand. This was actually the dive where this photo was taken, during the descent to the VietNamese Wreck. Had numerous "close encounters" with these, including one actually INSIDE MY BCD during a BCD-removal skills exercise...but I never got stung...
