Photo description: A Red Lionfish with its venom-tipped fins folded back...so I guess it wasn't threated by the likes of me. It has a "beard"--a fleshy tentacle-like growth below its mouth. They were comparatively different from, say, the Zebra Lionfish I saw in the Perhentians Islands. For example, the spines reach the caudal peduncle and are not membrane-connected, in contrast to the Dendriochirus genus (e.g. Zebra Lionfish).
