Photo description: Male (final phase). The princess parrotfish has three distinct color phases. The juvenile phase shows horizontal black and white stripes with dark edges on their tail fins. Initial phase individuals, which are mature females, have brown stripes and yellowish fins (next spotting). When individuals change into males, known as the terminal phase, they are bluish-green with horizontal green stripes bordering their eye. They also have a yellowish stripes as well as pink, orange, or yellow borders on their dorsal and tail fins. Princess parrotfish grow between 8 to 10 inches (20-25 cm) and are found at depths between 10 and 80 feet. Olympus XZ-1
