São Tomé and Príncipe is located in the Gulf of Guinea, with two main islands (São Tomé island and Príncipe island) and several islets, with a total area of 964 km². These islands are next to the Equator line and about 300 km from the African west coast. The entire archipelago is volcanic swells in the Cameroon line. São Tomé and Príncipe have an equatorial climate, hot and humid with average temperatures varying between 22 °C and 30 °C . It is a country of many micro-climates. Temperature varies according to altitude and terrain.
